HP JetAdmin Utility for UNIX - J2375B provides network connectivity forHP MI0-based peripherals using J2550A, J2552A, J2555A print servers, HPXI0-based LaserJet II, IID, III, IIID printers using C2071S/T JetDirectprint servers, or any parallel-based printer using J2382B JetDirectExternal Network I/F.The Solaris 2.2, 2.3 environments are further enhanced with a job monitorand device monitor. The job monitor shows how much data has beentransmitted to the printer and how many pages have been actually printed.It also shows events which prevent jobs from being printed. The devicemonitor displays comprehensive information about the device. It istargetted at the peripheral administrator. Both monitors require Motif.HP JetDirect print servers give users the flexibility to locate a printeror plotter anywhere on Ethernet or Token Ring network, by connecting itdirectly to the network cable. Peripherals are no longer confined to hostsystem locations because of limited serial or parallel cable lengths.Performance is maximized by taking advantage of faster networktransmission speeds, rather than being limited by PC parallel or serialperformance bottlenecks associated with direct system I/O connections.
